Endoscopy department

In the center of Thessaloniki, City Paws veterinary clinic features an endoscopy department for pets, with two flexible endoscopes, one rigid and one video-otoscope.

As many diseases, especially respiratory and gastrointestinal, may not be diagnosed through X-ray or ultrasound, cat and dog endoscopy are often necessary, followed by a biopsy to confirm diagnosis.

Endoscopy allows the vet to examine the insides of the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory tract in order to take a biopsy or remove a foreign body.

The procedure is achieved using flexible or rigid endoscopes, which enter through the animal’s mouth and/or nasal cavities to avoid pet surgery.

With these endoscopes we can deal with both the diagnosis (examination of lesions and biopsies) and treatment (removal of foreign bodies) of any animal.

Although animal endoscopy requires general anesthesia, it is considered a non-invasive method and is thus particularly safe for all companion animals.

At our veterinary clinic in the center of Thessaloniki, we offer a variety of endoscopic examinations for dogs and cats, from a simple otoscopy or rhinoscopy, to colonoscopy, gastroscopy and bronchoscopy for dogs and cats.

In this way, the endoscopy of the urinary, genital, gastrointestinal and respiratory systems is achieved, in order to investigate pathological conditions, such as chronic vomiting and diarrhea, bleeding, chronic sneezing, as well as to remove possible foreign bodies in dogs, cats, and other companion animals.
